Small Business Marketing
At Local Business News (LBN) we create newsworthy content on America’s local businesses and then use it for public relations and social networking.
Editorial
We believe that articles created by journalist have more success in the marketplace than articles created by public relations writers. Glenn Gilbert, the LBN Executive Editor is the former Executive Editor of the Oakland Press, Michigan’s third largest newspaper. The editorial department will determine the newsworthiness of each business’ event, editorial’s approval is the first step in the LBN program.
Public Relations
Media attention has such a positive effect on businesses that every opportunity to obtain coverage should be made. LBN is a website that features newsworthy articles of local businesses, the articles (including pictures and/or video) are pitched to the local media as a print/post/mobile-ready link in a press release. The article is then launched on social networks and shared through links back to the business.
The 100% Guarantee
The LBN staff will choose 10 businesses in each city (Metro Detroit, Chicago and Sacramento) with the best newsworthy happenings in April and May to participate in the LBN Public Relations Program. The participating businesses are not asked to pay the participation fee until after the campaign is completed and the business owner is 100% satisfied with the response.

Is this a trend that is sustainable and where will this leave us 10 years from now?

In 1989, after years of working in Detroit area bike shops, Martin bought a van and started his own business, becoming the Bicycle Doctor, repairing bikes throughout Oakland County.
