Company founder Connie Hahne dreamed up Michigan Mittens while driving home with her husband from their cabin in the Upper Peninsula. Melissa Martiss misses her mother and grandmother terribly. To honor their love of crafting, she opened Monarch Craft Studio in April 2025. At Monarch, crafters sit at long tables and work on whatever project strikes their fancy. Melissa offers a wide variety of crafts ranging from painting ceramics and glass fusing to faux stained glass and canvas painting. She created a community place for making new friends in a welcoming environment all while keeping those creative juices flowing.
