Alex Lescure is the personal chef for The French Lady in Birmingham, a restaurant his mom started about five years ago. The restaurant is temporarily closed right now, but Alex provides personal chef services for small groups and parties in people’s homes and other venues. He’s been cooking since he was 15 and trained at the Paris Culinary School. All of his food is locally sourced, as he works with local farmers markets and other suppliers to obtain ingredients. Jenya Semenkova, manager of Ptashka Crepes, was excited to tell us about trying out for Shark Tank earlier this month. We may see her on the show if Ptashka is chosen. Also, market season is here, and Ptashka will be at Eastern Market every other Saturday and Birmingham Farmers Market every other Sunday, as well as at markets in Traverse City and Petoskey. You will also see Ptashka at the Berkley Pride Block Party on June 21. The business is just a couple years old, and is now in 150 stores in 10 states.
