What’s New? – The French Lady

What’s New? – The French Lady

Alex Lescure is the personal chef for The French Lady in Birmingham, a restaurant his mom started about five years ago. The restaurant is temporarily closed right now, but Alex provides personal chef services for small groups and parties in people’s homes and other venues. He’s been cooking since he was 15 and trained at the Paris Culinary School. All of his food is locally sourced, as he works with local farmers markets and other suppliers to obtain ingredients. You can book Alex via his contact information on the French Lady website or on Facebook.

What’s New? – Farmington Farmer’s Market

What’s New? – Farmington Farmer’s Market

Peggy Castine, a volunteer and website editor for the Farmington Farmers Market in downtown Farmington, stopped by to give us a preview of this year’s market, opening May 3 at 9 a.m. Opening day will feature the ringing of the market bell by a farmer from Two Tracks Acres, a new organic farm featured this year, plus a color guard, the national anthem and more. We look forward to flower day at the market on May 10, plus favorites like strawberry shortcake day in June and the second annual apple dessert bake-off in September. See the website, www.farmingtonfarmersmarket.com, for a weekly schedule of events and a list of vendors.
